		Friendship Ark Homes Endowment Fund We are proud to announce the establishment of the Friendship Ark Homes Endowment Fund. This fund operates under the Story County Community Foundation (SCCF), which is affiliated with the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. Our Fund will be managed by the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, for a nominal fee. Donations to this fund are not only tax deductible, but also give you a 20% tax credit on your Iowa Income Tax. Yes, an additional 20% tax credit!!! This winning combination benefits our core members, as well as you, our supporter. You may not be aware that the service we provide to our core members is paid for by Federal, State, and County funds, through a Medicaid program. However, most of the administrative costs are not covered by this funding. Therefore, we need your support not only to provide our excellent service, but to assure the future of Friendship Ark Homes and its continued growth. The Friendship Ark Homes Endowment Fund will be used for purchasing future homes, providing maintenance updates to our existing homes as they need it, and for other high-cost items such as vans. More about the benefits of your donation… Your donation to a qualified nonprofit charitable organization is eligible as a tax deduction. For example, if you donated $5,000 and were in a 30% tax bracket, you would recover 30% of the $5,000 deduction, or $1,500 in tax benefits. Now for the “big one”!! There is a 20% tax credit on your Iowa Income Tax. If you contributed the $5,000, in addition to the tax benefits above, the State of Iowa would deduct 20% of your $5,000 donation, or $1,000, right off of your tax bill. In this case, the $5,000 donation would be benefiting a charitable organization with a full $5,000, but it would only truly cost you $2,500 due to the double tax benefits. *How can you be a part of this exciting opportunity?* 1.
