Generous donor support has allowed us to successfully serve 25 core members and their families during our nine years of operation.

We believe that Friendship Ark Homes plays a unique role in central Iowa by providing homes that promote Christian values for adults with intellectual disabilities. Convinced of the worth and potential of each person, our staff encourages core members to share responsibilities, make family decisions, build relationships, and be proud of their accomplishments. Core members are actively involved in the community, going places and doing things such as working, volunteering, spending money, voting, enjoying the library, playing sports, taking classes, riding Cy-Ride, and exercising.

Government funds reimburse about 85% of our annual expenses, primarily for what is called “direct care” of our core members. We must count on generous donors like you to raise additional funds for purchasing and maintaining vehicles, staff training, office supplies, home repairs, and administrative costs.
